Pier journal, an independent print magazine, based in Bournemouth, had an opening call to submit artwork to win the front cover of their Autumn/ Winter edition, responding to the theme of ‘Becoming’. From this, I wanted to create something simplistic, and nature focussed, so decided to show a butterfly coming out of a chrysalis, with pops of colour and motifs in the wings, nodding to the theme.

From my submission, Pier commissioned me to create a poster for their Labyrinth head-dress making work. The brief was gothic, folklore, with references to the film ‘Labyrinth’.
